Submit Sputum in a sterile screw capped container OR 2 air dried Smears in a slide mailer. Ship refrigerated. DO NOT FREEZE.
Usage
Routine examination of sputum is useful in cases of respiratory infections. Colour, volume, consistency & odour are helpful to differentiate between various types of pneumonias. Presence of white blood cells & red blood cells is indicative of different kinds of infections.
